Strengthening Global Engineering Collaboration: IEM–CSEE MoU at PowerCon 2025

24 September, 2025 – the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) and the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE) formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Hefei, Anhui, China.

The signing, held in conjunction with the 17th International Conference on New Power System Technology (PowerCon 2025), represents a pivotal step towards closer collaboration between Malaysia and China in advancing power and energy systems. Through this MoU, both institutions will strengthen ties in knowledge exchange, joint research, and innovative practices that address the evolving challenges of the energy landscape.

Adding to the momentum, IEM President Ir. Prof. Dr. Jeffrey Chiang Choong Luin delivered a keynote speech on “ESG in Engineering Towards a Greener Tomorrow”, highlighting the critical role engineers play in driving sustainability and shaping resilient energy futures.

This milestone reflects IEM’s continued commitment to fostering international partnerships, championing engineering excellence, and equipping engineers to lead in a rapidly transforming global energy ecosystem.
