A new chapter begins for women engineers in Miri, Sarawak as the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) Miri Branch proudly officiated the launch of their Women Engineers Section during the IEM Miri Branch Annual Dinner 2026, held at Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club on 18 October 2026. This milestone marks a significant step towards strengthening the presence, representation, and empowerment of women engineers in Miri.
The celebration began with inspiring words from IEM Women Engineers (WE) Chair, Ir. Prof. Dr. Zuhaina Zakaria, followed by a special montage launching ceremony to mark this new beginning and shared commitment to creating opportunities, nurturing talent, strengthening professional networks, and ensuring women engineers have an equal voice in shaping the future of the engineering profession.
