14 August, 2025 – In a key moment of international collaboration, the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) recently participated in a focused exchange session with Nuclear Industry Jingxiang Construction Group in Huzhou, China, further strengthening engineering cooperation in green development and professional talent cultivation.
The IEM delegation was led by Ir. Prof. Dr. Jeffrey Chiang Choong Luin, President of IEM, while Mr. Yang Hai Bo, Chairman of the Board, led the Nuclear Industry Jingxiang team. Both organisations brought together thought leaders and experts to share experiences, challenges, and innovations in the journey toward sustainable engineering.
The exchange focused on two primary themes:
- Green and Low-Carbon Development: Representatives from both sides shared successful strategies and achievements in driving green transformation, and sustainable infrastructure. A highlight was a dedicated presentation on Malaysia’s Green and Low-Carbon Developments, providing insights into national policies, initiatives, and engineering contributions toward a sustainable future.
- Training the Next Generation: The dialogue also explored effective methods for cultivating young professional talents in engineering, highlighting the importance of industry-academic collaboration, hands-on learning, and digital upskilling in preparing engineers for future global challenges.
This meaningful session not only fostered greater understanding between Malaysian and Chinese engineering practices but also set the stage for potential future collaborations in sustainability, professional development, and innovation.
