The IEM Professional Interview (PI) 2.0 is an outcome-based assessment framework aligned with internationally recognised competency standards, including IPEA and APEC. Through the submission of Training & Experience Reports, Technical Annexes, technical essay writing, and a peer-review oral interview, candidates demonstrate their professional competence, engineering judgement, ethical commitment, and readiness for professional practice.

In recognition of this professional achievement, effective May 2026, successful PI 2.0 candidates will receive a Professional Interview Certificate in addition to their MIEM Certificate. They will also be entitled to attend 10 complimentary IEM webinars over a 12-month period, enabling them to accumulate up to 20 CPD hours. Furthermore, successful candidates will be recognised through congratulatory features on IEM’s social media platforms and Jurutera-I.

Achieving MIEM status marks an important milestone in an engineerโ€™s career, recognising not only technical expertise but also professionalism, responsibility, and dedication to lifelong learning. As Corporate Members, these engineers join a distinguished community committed to advancing engineering excellence and contributing to national development.
