13 April 2025 | Sunday Morning Adventure
On 13 April 2025, the IEM Young Engineers Section (YES) successfully organized a sunrise hiking session at Bukit Broga, Semenyih. The activity was aimed at strengthening camaraderie while enjoying nature’s beauty in the early hours of the day.
A total of 31 participants joined the hike, including 8 IEM YES representatives, 8 IEM UM Student Section representatives, 14 IEM UiTM Shah Alam Student Section representatives, and a pharmacist friend. All participants successfully made it to Peak 3 of Bukit Broga, with a group photo commemorated at Peak 2 atop the iconic giant rocks.
On this chill Sunday morning, participants gathered at the Broga Hill Park parking lot before dawn. Despite the uncertainties of the rainy season, the organizing team adopted a cautious and well-monitored approach before confirming the hike. The morning began with a safety briefing by IEM YES Chairman, Mr. Lim Yiren, followed by a quick warm-up session led by Mr. Fikri, the Treasurer of the IEM UiTM Shah Alam Student Section. Energized and ready, the group began their hike at 6:15 AM.

As the group ascended, they were treated to a stunning view of the sunrise emerging through the misty morning sky. Everyone took a well-deserved pause to soak in the scenery and capture the moment. The hike fostered a strong sense of unity and support, with team members encouraging and assisting one another throughout the trail—highlighting the spirit of teamwork and care.

Upon reaching Peak 3, the students gathered for a memorable group photo on the large rock formation. It was no small feat—climbing to the top required courage, caution, and collaboration. The sense of achievement after conquering the trail, coupled with the challenges of muddy paths and steep slopes, made the experience even more rewarding.

In short, the hiking experience was both fun and meaningful. Participants walked away with valuable takeaways—to go along with nature, not against it; to believe in the power of teamwork; and to always prioritize safety. IEM YES is committed to organizing more outdoor and social activities with the IEM Student Sections to promote wellbeing and stronger networking among members.

Until the next hike—see you at the top!
